Holding Redlich is proud to share that Associate Shiryn Hagh has been recognised in Australasian Lawyer's 2025 Future Legal Leaders list, joining 86 other standout young lawyers who are making a mark on the legal industry.
The recognition follows an extensive five-month research process conducted by Australasian Lawyer’s 30+ strong Intelligence Unit, which involved in-depth industry interviews and rigorous analysis of nominees' achievements and contributions over the past 12 months. The final list features 87 lawyers aged 35 and under who demonstrate technical excellence, leadership, and a clear commitment to the future of the profession.
Shiryn Hagh is an associate in Holding Redlich’s intellectual property (IP) team. She advises businesses and individuals on both contentious and non-contentious IP matters, with a focus on trade mark and brand protection. Based in Sydney, she counsels clients across government, construction, technology, retail, hospitality, education, healthcare and FMCG on the full IP life cycle.
In the trade mark space, Shiryn has extensive experience preparing, filing and prosecuting trade mark applications in Australia, New Zealand and internationally. She assists clients in overcoming objections during trade mark application examinations, filing submissions, preparing evidence of trade mark use and negotiating consents from third party trade mark owners. She also advises on brand enforcement, resolving trade mark disputes and handling opposition and non-use removal proceedings before IP Australia’s Hearing Office.
Since joining Holding Redlich, Shiryn has managed over 30 trade mark portfolios, ensuring comprehensive protection for clients across multiple jurisdictions. Beyond trade marks, she advises on brand protection, IP considerations in mergers and acquisitions, IP infringement and enforcement matters, copyright, domain name registration disputes, as well as advertising clearance and compliance.
In November 2024, Australasian Lawyer and NZ Lawyer accepted nominations for the 2025 Future Legal Leaders (previously Rising Stars). The standout young stars from the Australian and New Zealand legal profession were invited to put their names forward; those who knew of and wished to highlight such talent were also asked to submit nominations.
Nominees needed to be 35 or younger as of 31 January 2025. They had to have committed to a career in the legal profession and shown a clear passion for the industry. The team also required nominees to cite their current position, responsibilities and key achievements over the past 12 months.
The team considered recommendations from managers and senior industry professionals in the review process conducted after the nomination period. After considering all aspects of the many submissions received, 87 emerged as the brightest young stars of the batch.
