Chelsea is a senior member of Holding Redlich’s national Workplace Relations & Safety team, with a focus on health and safety law.

She assists a diverse portfolio of clients in navigating the complex and ever-evolving landscape of health and safety issues. Chelsea provides expert training, strategic advice on critical risk management, and guidance through regulatory investigations and criminal prosecutions.

With extensive experience in criminal defence, Chelsea has successfully represented clients in a wide range of complex matters, including cases before the Supreme Court of Victoria Court of Appeal, where she has handled applications for leave to appeal against both sentence and conviction.

Chelsea began her career in large-scale commercial litigation, where she developed deep expertise in high-profile inquiries and Royal Commissions.

Experience

Chelsea’s experience includes:

  • Investigations and Royal Commissions ­- acting on behalf of clients in a range of Royal Commissions including the Royal Commission into Family Violence and as part of the team of solicitor’s assisting the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System. Chelsea was seconded to the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health system as a secondee lawyer in 2019.
  • Criminal prosecutions - defending complex indictable proceedings in the Magistrates’ and County Courts, acting for clients in applications for leave to appeal against sentence and/or conviction in the Supreme Court of Victoria Court of Appeal, including appearing in the Court of Appeal, led by Senior Counsel, on behalf of a respondent to an appeal against sentence by the Director of Public Prosecutions.
  • Advisory - advising boards and Executive Management on legal compliance and health and safety governance frameworks.
