Anthea is a senior associate in the Melbourne Dispute Resolution and Litigation Team. 

Anthea acts for individuals, corporate entities and government departments in a broad range of commercial and civil law matters, and has conducted matters in all Victorian courts and the Federal Court.  

Anthea has a background working in State government, and has represented the government in judicial review proceedings, quasi-criminal matters, inquiries and general civil law matters, including proceedings of a public interest that deal with sensitive subject matters.

Experience

Anthea has acted in a number of high profile civil and quasi-criminal proceedings. Some examples of her work include:

  • acting on behalf of the Attorney-General of Victoria in proceedings concerning the review of custodial and non-custodial supervision orders under the Crimes (Mental Impairment and Unfitness to be Tried) Act 1997 (Vic)
  • acting on behalf of individuals seeking judicial review of decisions made in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal in relation to visa applications
  • acting on behalf of Corrections Victoria in judicial review proceedings brought by prisoners
  • acting on behalf of the State government in defending personal injury claims relating to institutional abuse.
