  • North West Hybrid Power Project (Vast Solar) (Qld) – advising sponsor on proposed hybrid solar thermal (CSP), solar PV, battery and gas project
  • Greenough River Solar Farm (WA) – advised First Solar in relation to its successful tender for the first phase of the Greenough River Solar Farm, Western Australia, being Australia’s first utility scale photo voltaic solar project
  • Epuron Solar (NT) – advised the Clean Energy Finance Corporation in relation to the project financing of Epuron portfolio of three solar power stations in the Northern Territory
  • FRV (Qld) – advised on the development of multiple solar farms throughout Queensland including providing advice on the ministerial call-in process following the filing of a submitter appeal against the approval of a large scale solar farm at Clare in far north Queensland and cultural heritage issues arising post development approval
  • Solar Flagships – advised First Solar on its successful bid as part of AGL’s consortium for the delivery and operation of two photovoltaic solar plants (106MW and 53MW) as part of the Australian Commonwealth funded Solar Flagships program
  • Ergon Energy (Qld) – advised Ergon Energy on all aspects of the design and installation of a grid connected photovoltaic solar electrical system and supporting structures in Cairns and Townsville
  • Merredin Solar Farm (WA) – advising Risen on the sale of the 100MW solar farm; advising Risen on EPC and O&M contracts for the solar farm and BESS development agreement
  • Maoneng Solar (NSW)- advised GCL on the acquisition of the solar project from Maoneng in NSW
  • Italian Renewable Energy Storage – advised in relation to localising EPC, Supply and Installation and PPA agreements for various Solar and Storage Projects in Australia

  • Rooftop Solar Farm Project – advised NatiMongolian solar PV station – advised Symbior Solar Siam in relation to the lease of land for the development of a 50MW solar PV power plant, Mongolia
  • Solar for Low Income Households – advised NSW State Government in respect of its Solar for Low Income Households project providing solar to government housing occupants across the State. Reviewed the Installation Agreement and Power Purchase Agreement provided by the three shortlisted Solar Providers
  • Solar and PPA – advised in relation to large scale solar solution on large commercial and industrial sites across NSW
  • Take-out PPA – advised in relation to the acquisition of the contracts and rights in the arrangements regarding the long term solar agreement and related project documents for the Sydney Entertainment and Convention Centre
  • New South Wales Solar Rebate Scheme – advised participants on the establishment of solar grid generation systems that complied with the requirements of the Solar Rebate scheme
  • Mackay Regional Council – acted for Council in a planning appeal against the Council’s decision to refuse an application for a 60MW solar farm Agreement, the template site specific Power Purchase Agreement, and the Licence
  • Goomnumbla Solar Farm – advising EPC contractor in relation to various upstream claims under the EPC Contract
  • Lilyvale Solar Farm – advising EPC contractor in relation to various upstream claims under the EPC Contract and QBCC licensing issues attached to carrying out the EPC work in Queensland
  • Winton Solar Farm – advised the main contractor in relation to the resolution of contentious extension of time claims
  • Lilyvale Solar Farm – advised the main contractor in relation to implications of Queensland licensing regime and the ability to make claims under the applicable security of payment legislation

  • Turitea Wind Farm – prepared subcontract documents and advised Vestas as the EPC and O&M contractor in relation to the 180MW Turitea Wind Farm, New Zealand
  • Cherry Tree Wind Farm – prepared subcontract documents and advised Vestas as the EPC and O&M contractor in relation to the 57.6 MW Cherry Tree Wind Farm, Victoria
  • Tsetsii Wind Farm – advised Vestas in relation to structuring, licencing and currency risk management of the 50MW Tsetsii Wind Farm, Mongolia, including negotiating security arrangements
  • Biala Wind Farm – advised Beijing Jingneng Clean Energy on the acquisition, financing and EPC of Biala Wind Farm in New South Wales

  • Bald Hills Wind Farm (development) – advised equity participants in relation to all construction, operation and connection aspects of the project financed 106MW wind farm
  • Mt. Mercer Wind Farm – advised the project sponsors in relation to the construction of the 131MW Mt. Mercer Wind Farm, Victoria and connection to the Victorian transmission network
  • Capital Wind Farm – advised the NSW Government in relation to the development of the 140MW Capital Wind Farm in Tarago, New South Wales
  • Capital II Wind Farm – advised Senvion regarding the Capital II Wind Farm which formed part of a consortium bid in relation to the Australian Capital Territory’s reverse auction
  • Gullen Range Wind Farm – advised the NSW Government in relation to the development of the 165MW Gullen Range Wind Farm in the
  • Gullen Ranges, which was also subject to court proceedings regarding the Minister’s approval of the project
  • Woodlawn Wind Farm – advised the client in relation to the modification of a legacy approval for the 48MW Woodland Wind Farm under the new major projects regime in New South Wales
  • ARENA – advising on the Coober Pedy Diesel Hybrid Project (solar, wind and battery).
  • Wambo Wind Farm - wind energy development on Western Downs in Qld consisting of 84 turbines which, when complete, will deliver 500 MW of power. Advising in relation to tenure related matters including option agreements, easements and lay down licences offset
  • Turitea Wind Farm – advised Vestas in relation to various up and downstream disputes concerning the Turitea Wind Farm, New Zealand
  • Dundonnell Wind Farm – advised Vestas in relation to the resolution of various technical disputes relating to the provision of reactive power support to the Dundonnell wind farm
  • Stockyard Hill Wind Farm – advised Goldwind in relation to various up and downstream disputes concerning the Stockyard Hill Wind Farm
  • Senvion insolvency – advised Senvion in relation to its insolvency and exit from the Australian market, including dealing with transition of projects under construction from Senvion to the Principal for completion
  • Shin Izumo – advised Vestas on the settlement of a $30M wind farm dispute in Shin Izumo, Japan concerning plant design and wind modelling faults

  • Phu Quy Wind Farm – advised Vestas as the EPC contractor in relation to the co-generation 9MW Phu Quy wind/diesel power station, Vietnam

Biofuels

  • Queensland Biomass – advising an agribusiness landowner (a major almond producer) on the design, construction, financing and operation of a 35MW biomass power plant on its land by a third party, including drafting, negotiating and advising on the related Feedstock Supply Agreement, Ash Sales Agreement, an off take Power Purchase Agreement, a Financier’s Consent Deed and various land tenure

Waste and Energy from Waste

  • Advanced Waste processing – advising the Metropolitan Waste and Resource Recovery Group on the establishment of an Advanced Waste Processing facility for 16 local governments
  • GippsWaste – advising the Gippswide Resource Recovery Group in relation to collaborative procurement across 6 councils for 4 multi-stream procurements
  • East Rockingham EfW project – advising SUEZ in its role as O&M contractor, waste supplier and contractor responsible for residue disposal. East Rockingham was only the second EfW project to reach financial close in Australia
  • Parkes Special Activation Precinct, EfW Facility (NSW) – currently acting for a bidding consortium on a tender by the NSW Government for a proposed energy from waste facility in the Parkes Special Activation Precinct
  • EfW Project (Qld) – currently acting for a sponsor on a proposed EfW project in SE Queensland
  • Maryvale EfW Project (Vic) – acted for SUEZ on the development and structuring aspects of an energy from waste project with Opal Australian Paper
